1 What is a cookie Cookie is a short text file sent by a viewed website into your browser. It allows the website to track information about your visit, e.g. prefered language and other settings. Your next visit to a website can therefore be easier and more productive. Cookie files are important. Browsing the Web without them would be more complicated.
